First announcement and Call for Papers: ISBIS-2008, Prague 1-4 July 2008

ISBIS-2008 is an international symposium sponsored by the International Society of Business and Industrial Statistics, focusing on quantitative aspects of Banking, Insurance and Finance, and important statistical issues relating to productivity improvement and decision-making at all levels of business and industry.

Many world leading quantitative financial analysts and industrial statisticians will be participating.

The symposium will be held in the beautiful medieval city of Prague, in the Czech Republic, during 1-4 July, 2008.

It will provide a varied and stimulating scientific program of invited and contributed papers, and excellent opportunities for formal and informal exchanges. Authors will have the opportunity to submit extended versions of their papers for publication in a special edition of the Society's journal, Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry. International Conference in Applied Probability and Statistics

ISBIS will be the main sponsoring organisation of the International Conference in Applied Probability and Statistics, Hanoi Vietnam, 1-3 December 2008.

Introducing the Official Journal of ISBIS: Applied Statistical Models in Business and Industry

ISBIS now has its own official journal, Applied Statistical Models in Business and Industry, edited by Fabrizio Ruggeri () and published by Wiley (UK). From January 2008, ISBIS members will receive free electronic access to the journal. This journal has been developed and enhanced significantly under the editorship of Jef Teugels, over the last several years and Jef is now completing the process of handing over to the new editor, Fabrizio.
