ISBIS4 Conference (2005)

As a satellite meeting to the 55th Session of the International Statistical Institute, ISBIS4 was held from April 14 to 16, 2005 in the vicinity of Cairns, on the Great Barrier Reef, an area of remarkable natural beauty and one of Australia's best vacation areas.

ISBIS4 was the fourth in a series of international symposia focussing on important statistical issues relating to productivity improvement, improved use of quantitative methods to support decision-making at all levels of business and industry, and statistical aspects of Finance. Many world leading industrial statisticians participated. Program Chair was V. Nair from the University of Michigan.

On April 13, 2005, a one-day Workshop on "Data Mining and Financial Statistics" was given by Jerry Friedman and Glenn Stone.
